Made to order - Freelance work

Some customised hand made outfits I created for Jade Turnbull, photographer, a while back.

Flower dress, gradient rose flowers assembled on to a peplum dress
Shoes and bag - random placing of different flowers.

Gem suit using skin coloured body and crystal gems

Scale suit - body and shorts separate using a textured sheen fabric, cut into scale shapes and sewn in place using stretch thread.

Models - Unknown.

Mary Katrantzou

Just checked out the London Fashion Week SS13 show by Mary Katrantzou.
It's was all about the volume for the dresses, masses of fabric of pastel colours with prints of postage stamps and currency - reference to her home of Greece before the euro? A close up photo shows the same aesthetics as paper notes, with that metallic print layered on top of a busy surface design. Some were adorned in Swarovski crystals and not forgetting Louboutins for the feet!

Hair was slicked back off the face with a bun type tuck.

House of Holland

WAKE UP! Is the message I think
Henry Hollands brand House of Holland wanted to shout at London Fashion Weeks SS13 show. It was young, fresh and full of colour and like a step back to the 90s with clashy, bright and bold prints of tie dye and oversized checks.... I even spotted dungarees in the crazy coloured print!

It has a grunge glamour with the models sporting messy hair, bronzed faces and highlighted cheek bones

So, I'm going through my hundreds of Look Magazines that I have collected since 2008 and pulling out anything I find interesting or relevant for research etc. This article was quite recent which was on The New Online Style Meccas and VV Vintage was one of them. Keeping this I eventually decided to check it out....How didn't I know about this site!!?

VV Vintage is VV Browns online vintage store, it showcases vintage pieces, ethical designers, upcycling and up and coming designer talent.

You can find designer gems like; YSL, DIOR, Louis Vuitton and out-of-season excess stock from designers like Manish Arora and Ashish.

And if you want to make some money you can apply to get commission from your own finds when out and about.

Here's a few of my best pickings.

Leather duffle bag - AMAZING, going away for the weekend!?

Love this graphic print dress

Holly Fulton SS13

Day 2 of London Fashion Week shows collection from Holly Fulton and although I wasn't there....sigh.... I was able to get some pictures from Instagram!!! Got to love it!

Models wore flat shoes for once in the form of espadrilles, hair was French plaited and messy with two tone a lip of red and pink.

I love designers that are very print focused and Holly Fulton is one of them, SS13 showed bold prints. A mix up of grid pattern, graphic details of zig zags and circles with floral and 3d flowers on top.

The Ragged Priest

Thought I'd do a little write up on The Ragged Priest as they've been on my radar for a while but recently I think they have stepped it up.

What they sell:

Studded leathers
Tie dyed denim
Bleached splattered clothing
Army Camouflage jackets - Which is going to be a big trend for high street this A/W 12/13
Oversized shirts dip dyed

May not be for everyone but I personally love there style, it's like D.I.Y of vintage clothing or of your dads old denim jacket that you've studded up to your boyfriend denim shirt that you've tie dyed.

As seen on Rihanna and Jessie J of course!!
